people say

to put your past in a book. Don't dwell over it, and don't beat yourself up over something that happened. Because those big mistakes you think you made will all just be small bumps in the road of the rest of your life. I believe in moving on, in seeing the better side in things, learning from those mishaps, and striving to better yourself, but in many ways one can't just take what happened and put it into a book to burn, leaving it as ashes. Those situations are what may shape a person at the end of the day, whether they learn from them or not. They are part of a person's character, and many times the past can haunt someone for however long it chooses to. It is completely impossible to forget what had happened, but it is possible to move forward. Tomorrow may be a new day, but tomorrow isn't trying to forget what happened. Tomorrow is taking what happened, dissecting from it the lessons it may teach you, and using those lessons to your advantage. Tomorrow is the first day of your life -- so just go & do you.
